Lueckenomics Blog

whopperStudents in Washington and Lee journalism professor Pam Luecke’s course on Reporting on the Economy have created a class blog in which they’re offering their take on the latest economic stories — from Lehman Brothers’ current hiring practices to what attendance at ice skating events might reveal about the economy. The blog is named Lueckenomics: An economic, journalistic experiment created by undergrads for anyone willing to listen. Be sure to check out the entry titled “Recession? Shesmession.” by Alicia Budich, a sophomore who explores the way the recession is playing among fashion writers. And Leanne Gerlach’s entry on “Recession Pounds” shows the kind of curiosity that often results a a good story — i.e., why am I waiting so long in the middle of the afternoon to order a Whopper Junior? (Admit it: you were wondering what the burger had to do with this post.)
