rss1Want to see the latest Washington and Lee news as soon as it’s posted to our Web site? All you have to do is subscribe to our RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. You need only two things to make this work: a connection to the Internet and an application called a news reader. This link will take you to a list of popular news readers, which include Bloglines, NetNewsWire, Sharpreader, and NewsGator.

In some cases, the browser you are using may make the news reader unnecessary. An RSS news reader is built into several browsers, including Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 7. With the browsers, you can view the news headlines in your bookmark toolbar, and the feed automatically updates so you don’t have to refresh. Once you see a story you want to read, click on it and you’ll be taken to that story on the W&L site.

All you have to do is supply the following URL to your newsreader:

http://www.wlu.edu/x28040.xml

Your news reader will then automatically check our site for updates every time you run it.
