NSSE Releases Latest Results in USA Today

nsse_site_bannerThe National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has announced this year’s results, and there are stories in both the Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed. But the most thorough reporting on NSSE is in USA Today, which has partnered with NSSE for the second year to provide detailed statistical data. Since 2000, NSSE has surveyed first-year students and seniors at colleges and universities, including Washington and Lee. The survey results in judging students’ level of engagement in five benchmark areas: level of academic challenge, active and collaborative learning, student-faculty interaction, enriching educational experiences and supportive campus environment. W&L’s results show scores above the national average in all five categories. In addition, the benchmark data are higher than peer groups in most areas. You can see W&L’s scores and those of other colleges on USA Today’s Web site where you can search for any NSSE participant’s results.
